Do Your Trees Need Service?

At Waco Tree Services, we’ll never overcharge you for a service or try to sell you services you don’t need. But if you notice any of these signs, it may be time to call a tree service:

Drooping or Overgrown Branches

Your tree branches may have grown too close to the ground or a building, or extend too far out from the trunk. This is a hazardous situation. A storm or heavy rain may cause branches to collapse and fall, putting people and property in danger. A low-hanging branch can be dangerous if you’re walking around at night.

A Weak or Sick Tree

If your tree looks discolored or is losing bark, the wood is soft, or the trunk has small cracks or holes, this may indicate a diseased tree. A single dead branch does not mean the entire tree is dead or dying. All large trees have branches die out as part of their regular life cycle. But several large, dead branches may indicate a health issue. One of our trained arborists can determine the cause and identify any disease that is affecting the tree. They can also advise you on the best course of action to cure the disease or at least reduce its effects on the tree.

Lack of Structural Integrity

A normal tree should have a symmetrical shape. If the trunk is leaning to one side, or the branches are growing more on one side than the other, or the trunk looks like it’s about to split apart, these are situations that you should have a tree service address. The earlier you can get this corrected, the easier and less expensive it will be.

Trees Too Close to Power Lines

This is a common situation that calls for a qualified tree service. If your tree’s branches or canopy are uncomfortably close to powerlines, you should call a professional service as soon as possible. Trimming trees that are close to high-voltage powerlines is a dangerous task best left to the most qualified professionals.

Storm Damage

We get a lot of storms here in Central Texas. If your tree was damaged in a storm, or even suffered a lightning strike, our tree service experts can clean up fallen branches and debris and assess the health of your tree. A branch may be broken or partly attached. This is a safety issue that must be addressed quickly. Tree wounds from a storm allow insects and disease organisms to enter the tree and eventually cause the tree to rot and decay. We can properly treat any tree wounds and apply fertilizer if that’s what’s needed to get your tree back to full health.

Here in Central Texas we have many tall oak, ash, and pine trees which are susceptible to lightning strikes because of their height.

Insect Infestation

Insects can bore into the roots or branches of a tree and cut off the tree’s nutrients and water. When insects have made their home in one tree, they can quickly spread to others. You can try to solve the problem on your own, but many DIY solutions end up making the situation worse. Our experienced tree professionals will identify the problem and how to efficiently solve it. You want someone who can save the tree as much as possible and protect neighboring trees from being affected.

Mushrooms On or Around Trees

Mushrooms growing on or at the base of a tree usually indicate significant internal damage to the tree. If you see mushrooms growing on or near your tree, don’t remove them – the spores can spread to other trees. Call one of our trained arborists. They can assess the tree and advise you on the best course of action.

Overgrown Leaves

When you stand under the tree, do you see sunlight through the leaves? Too much foliage can make a tree top-heavy and easier to fall over in storms. It can also accumulate dust, dirt, and other contaminants and reduce air quality. If you can’t see through the leaves, consider having our tree experts thin out the canopy a bit.

What We Can Do For You

When many people think of tree services, they think of tree trimming – and that’s certainly a big part of what we do. But a professional tree service like Waco Tree Services does much more.

Tree Pruning

Tree trimming, or pruning, is an important part of keeping your trees healthy. Knowing when and where to trim to improve the well-being of your trees takes years to learn. Understanding the specific needs and growth patterns of different trees, predicting future growth, and preventing and identifying damage and disease – these are crucial to proper tree care and are what we specialize in.

Tree Planting

Planting a new tree involves much more than just putting it in the ground. An arborist can help you find the optimum location for sunlight and water access. This makes sure the tree is well-nourished and also doesn’t adversely affect other trees and plants. Proper planting in the beginning can prevent major problems down the road.

Tree Removal

When it’s time for a tree to be removed, our specialized equipment makes sure there’s no damage to other trees or to your or the neighbors’ property. An old tree that has reached end of life must be removed carefully and safely. Let our insured, trained, and equipped tree experts do the hazardous work of tree removal.

Stump Removal

Removing a tree is one thing, but removing the stump and the entire root system? That’s a bigger job, and one our experts can do safely and efficiently. We can remove all vestiges of the dead tree, so there’s no twisted roots hindering growth and preventing access to nutrients and water for the lawn and other plants.

Emergency Cleanup

When a Central Texas thunderstorm knocks a tree down or causes a branch to fall on your lawn, the street, or a powerline, you need to act fast. Our trained crews can be on the scene quickly to clear debris, resolve hazardous situations, and prevent an electrical outage.

Keeping Your Trees and Plants Healthy

Our arborists have many years of training and experience in caring for trees and diagnosing tree health issues, so we can help you keep your trees and landscaping in the best shape. We’re sometimes called “tree doctors” or “tree surgeons” and this is an apt description. We can assess the health of every tree, shrub, and bush, and help you take steps both big and small to keep all your greenery in top condition.
